FAQ

What style of wedding photography do you offer?

Relaxed and laid-back with nothing too posed - apart from family groups! I have an informal approach to my photography, my aim is to capture your story, your day from beginning to end as it really happened. I will mostly photograph in a documentary style, capturing the real moments as they unfold. I like to observe rather than direct the events of your day.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Albums are the perfect way to compliment your wedding photography and are a great way to hold onto your photos forever and pass your story on to your children.
I offer storybook style albums, which are designed to show off your whole day from start to end in beautiful lay-flat pages. I personally design the albums myself and go through a drafting process with you to get it looking exactly how you want!

I also offer prints and wall art directly from my client galleries.

Do you include a pre-wedding session?

All of my wedding packages include a 2-hour pre-wedding shoot.
I believe these are so important to get you comfortable in front of the camera and get an opportunity to see how we work together to achieve your photos so that it isn't a surprise on the big day.
This session provides you with some beautiful photos to use for your invitations or wedding webpage too!
You pick the location, somewhere special to yourselves – maybe where you got engaged or just somewhere you particularly like.

Do you offer bespoke packages?

My packages are based on half-day and full-day rates but I am happy to create a package that is specifically for you and give you a quote.

How long until we receive our images?

You will receive around 10-20 preview images a few days after your wedding. Your full gallery will be available from 2 - 6 weeks after.

What is the booking process?

Once you have decided you would like me to shoot your wedding, there is a contract for you to read & sign as well as a 25% non-refundable deposit that will secure your date.

Are you Insured?

Yes, I am fully insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. I also have cover for all my equipment.

What backup solutions do you have in place?

I carry two camera bodies on the day to ensure I can capture multiple types of shots without switching lenses, and if one fails I have another to use. I also use multiple memory cards, switching them after each main section of the day.
As soon as I get home from your wedding all of your photos are backed up to an external hard-drive and onto a an online cloud. This way even if there was a flood or fire in my home there will always be a back-up somewhere!

Can I extend the session of the day of?

Yes! If on the day you need a bit of extra coverage I charge by the hour.

Are all the images edited?

After the wedding date I go through all the images I have taken and choose the best images. These images are then edited to a high standard, including exposure, cropping, sharpening, colour correction and stylistic colours to match my look and style.
I do not airbrush or manipulate images within photoshop to ensure authenticity of your day. The photos are presented in full colour with a few in a black and white class style.

Can we meet you?

Of course! I usually plan to have a consultation meeting to get to know you and find out more about your day. These can be online over Zoom or in-person, or over telephone if that easiest for you.
Further down the line we have a longer planning meeting to take down all the specifics for your day including your timeline and group photos.
Another opportunity to meet me is at the pre-wedding shoot!

What Equipment do you use?

I shoot on Canon full-frame cameras for the beautiful colours and skin tones you see in my portfolio. On a wedding day I photograph with two camera bodies on me, and a range of lenses and flashes.

How do I get my images?

All images are delivered digitally through a beautiful client gallery.
You have the option of sharing the gallery link with whoever you wish. You have unlimited access to the images, unlimited rights to download and reproduce for personal usage and the ability to purchase prints through the gallery. I guarantee that the gallery will be live for a minimum of 12 months after you receive it and I’ll offer you lots of tips about how to download and store your images safely.

I also provide a personalised app for you to download on your phone will will have up to 200 highlight images from your day.

How many images will I receive?

A low estimate is 200 images for a half-day wedding but can also be upwards of 700 for a full-day.

What locations do you cover?

I’m based in Fife and cover weddings mainly within central Scotland however I’m happy to photograph your wedding wherever it is taking place. However, I do have to charge for travel if your wedding is further than 50 miles from my location.

Do you offer off-peak discounts?

Yes, I’m happy to offer discounts for weddings taking place mid-week (Mondays to Thursdays). Likewise if you’re having a particularly small wedding I’m happy to discuss a discounted rate.

What happens if you're ill on the day?

If I happen to be too ill to shoot your wedding, I have a network of photographers that can step in to cover for me. My network consists of professional full time wedding photographers that shoot in a similar style to myself. You have my assurances that only something very serious would keep me away from your wedding.
